We harvested the last of our fruit last Friday (7/4) with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc now fermenting away in the winery.
What a vintage!
The weather gods challenged us but in the end the cooler days leaned towards what has become the Arlewood Forest Grove vineyard style.
I'm expecting this year's wines to be similar to 2002: high on aromatics with great length and persistence of flavour at modest alcohols.
That also means we'll back off on the oak content and let the fruit dominate more in this vintage.
